Dr. Asata Kamara AGNP-C, PMHNP-BC
Asata Kamara AGNP-C, PMHNP-BC is a noteworthy and highly experienced medical professional with over 20 years’ experience as a Doctoring Prepared Nurse (DNP) as well as 9 years’ experience as a Certified Adult Geriatric and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Dr. Kamara has vast experience in the treatment and management of anxiety disorder, mood disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD), insomnia, and schizophrenia. She also has immense experience in the treatment and management of chronic diseases such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes types 1 and 2, among other chronic illnesses. Over the course of her career, Dr. Kamara has attained the remarkable milestone of having served as a preceptor and mentor for more than one hundred graduating nursing students. She is a strong proponent of the perspective that integrating mental health services can lead to significantly improved outcomes for patients. They can speak openly and honestly about their feelings and thoughts. They can ask questions if they have any skepticisms or concerns. They should have a sense of whether they and their therapist are a good fit and what approach their therapist will use. Dr. Kamara is additionally a global and national medical philanthropist who cofounded and volunteers with the Liberian Medical Mission.
